Redwood...my favorite

All my redwood comes from Humboldt County, California...the heart of the redwood country.  I used to live there and had opportunity to work in the big wood day, falling, skidding, loading and hauling those huge logs...an experience I'll never forget.

The wood on this page will be for turning or small projects that might require a "board" for flatwork.  Pen blanks, knife scales, small things will have their own pages.

pendingfbho..............R1, $30.00 + $10.60 to ship = $40.60 total.  Redwood lace burl thinwood.  Very nice quality wood....just very thin.  : )  Most of these are "edges" cut from larger pieces when making pen blanks.  The longest ones have old "finish" on one side.  Dry and misted pics show one side...other sides are similar.  See measurements in pics.  Note, these are not stabilized.

pendingbm1216..............................R29  $30.00 +  $9.65 to ship = $39.65 total.     Redwood lace burl thinwood for casting/coasters/boxtops/knife scales.   They're all right at 3/8 thick plus or minus a hair.  : )   Dry and misted pics show one side pretty well.  See measurements in pics.    These all came from the very dry larger block.  Look for some small pencil arrows showing some hairline checks.  They don't go in very deep but they are there. : )

pendingbm125...............R24, $36.00 + $7.00 to ship = $43.00 total.  Redwood burl blocks cut for the knife makers and gun grip guys.  Dry and misted pics show both sides. See measurements in pics.  Last pic shows old finish on all of them....I could have sanded it off but didn't want to make it thinner.     Bottom block is 1 1/2" wide...top two are 2" wide.

R17  $25.00 +  $8.50 to ship = $33.50 total.     Redwood curly/figured spindle blocks.  Some figure...not a lot but maybe enough for whatever you want to make.  Note the bottom blank has more figure...note also some very thin checks typical of curly redwood.  Checks happen where the "top" of the curl is cut off where it becomes almost "end" grain.  Dry and misted pics show all sides pretty well.  See measurements in pics.
